North Sea Crude-Forties steady, Glencore buys cargo from Vitol
(Add Forties deal)
LONDON, Aug 18 (Reuters) - The price of North Sea Forties crude oil held steady on Friday, unchanged from its last deal on Monday, and remained at a slight discount to dated Brent, traders said.
* Prices have been under pressure from large amounts of oil held in floating storage in the North Sea offshore the UK, according to tanker data and trade sources.
* Swaps data showed the market was still in a modest backwardation, which should help to discourage storage in the weeks to come.
