Norwich 0-3 Liverpool LIVE! Minamino double - Carabao Cup match stream, latest score and goal updates today
The Carabao Cup returns this evening as the Premier League’s big hitters make their entrance into the competition.
Liverpool start their campaign with a trip to Carrow Road to take on a Norwich side who will have no doubt been hoping for a kinder draw as they look for a result to bring some cheer to what has been a pretty bleak start to the season.
The Canaries hammered Championship outfit Bournemouth in the second round but that result aside, Daniel Farke’s men have been suffering defeat after defeat - five of them in as many Premier League games since their return to the top flight.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are off to a flyer, level with Chelsea at the top of the league and having gotten their Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a thrilling victory over AC Milan at Anfield last week.

Easy peasy.

90 mins: There’ll be two minutes added...
21:31 , Malik Ouzia
89 mins: It’s all been very straight forward for Liverpool in the end. Jordan Henderson is on for the last few minutes in place of Curtis Jones - he’ll be hoping to be the man lifting this trophy at Wembley in about five months’ time.
GOAL! Norwich 0-3 Liverpool | Takumi Minamino 80'
21:22 , Malik Ouzia
Game over.
Not disimilar to his first goal in terms of where he’s scored it from but this time Minamino steers low, almost through the ‘keeper and has his second of the night.
21:17 , Malik Ouzia
73 mins: Teemu Puki was almost straight into the action, trying to run onto a ball in behind, but fellow substitute Robertson read it well and galloped across to cut out the danger.
21:12 , Malik Ouzia
69 mins: Teemu Pukki is on for the home side - bet he would have fancied that penalty.
21:07 , Malik Ouzia
64 mins: Looks like Andy Robertson is going to come on for the Reds. Remember, he’s spent a bit of time out injured this season already and didn’t start against Crystal Palace, so no harm in some extra minutes.
21:05 , Malik Ouzia
61 mins: Origi and Gordon are linking up nicely here. This time it’s Origi down the left who pulls back for Gordon to fire at goal on the half-volley but he can’t keep the strike down. Awkward one, bouncing just in front of him.
20:55 , Malik Ouzia
53 mins: Almost another. Gordon threads a terrific pass into the left channel for Origi, who takes it early, shaping for the far corner but he can’t get enough bend on it.
GOAL! Norwich 0-2 Liverpool | Divock Origi 50'
20:54 , Malik Ouzia
That might be that!
Great ball in from Tsimikas from the byline, clever header into the far corner from Origi and just as at the start of the first-half, Liverpool have an early goal.
20:50 , Malik Ouzia
47 mins: Oh, this is a terrific chance at the beginning of the half for Norwich. Liverpool give it away cheaply and it ends up at the feet of Lees-Melou but he lashes wildly over the bar when placement would have been a better bet.
KICK-OFF!
20:48 , Malik Ouzia
We are back underway with another Liverpool debut - 18-year-old Tyler Morton is on in place of Naby Keita.
And here’s why that goal is still separating them...

Here’s the goal that separates the sides...

GOAL! Norwich 0-1 Liverpool (Minamino, 4)
The ball falls to Minamino in the box and he strikes under the goalkeeper from five yards out to put Liverpool in front!

HT: Norwich 0-1 Liverpool
20:33 , Malik Ouzia
A very entertaining first half, all in all.
Penalty saved!
20:28 , Malik Ouzia
43 mins: Norwich just cannot buy a break!
Tzolis goes straight down the middle and Kelleher denies him with his legs.
Penalty to Norwich!
20:27 , Malik Ouzia
41 mins: A bad moment for Bradley on debut who gets wrong side of Giannoulis and goes through the back of him. Stonewall.
20:25 , Malik Ouzia
39 mins: You can tell Kelleher trains with Alisson every day. Twice in quick succesion it looks as if Norwich may be in but the ‘keeper’s starting position is excellent and he’s out like a flash to clear the danger.
20:19 , Malik Ouzia
33 mins: Massive chance for Norwich.
Dimitris Giannoulis dances down the left and his cross is beautifully flicked into the path of Idah but he sidefoots straight at Kelleher.
20:15 , Malik Ouzia
29 mins: Billy Gilmour’s influence is growing. He floats a nice pass in behind for Christos Tzolis but the Greek tries to guide a header over the ‘keeper first time when he really should have brought it down.
20:10 , Malik Ouzia
24 mins: Bright from Kaide Gordon. He drifts in off the left and holds off his man before trying to fire low into the near post from the edge of the box but pulls it a couple of yards wide.
20:04 , Malik Ouzia
19 mins: They’ve not been perturbed by that early goal, to be fair to Norwich. They look lively on the break and Billy Gilmour has just bent a free-kick not a million miles over the bar.
19:59 , Malik Ouzia
13 mins: Oof. Tsimikas’ free-kick is helped behind for a corner but when it comes in Norwich’s defending is poor again and Konate gets up to win it but powers his header just over the bar. Not far from a first Reds goal for the new boy.
19:57 , Malik Ouzia
11 mins: We’ve already seen little glimpses of Gordon on the ball looking assured and now young Conor Bradley surges down the right and wins a free-kick for his side in a dangerous position.
GOAL! Norwich 0-1 Liverpool | Takumi Minamino 4'
19:49 , Malik Ouzia
Well that didn’t take long!
Liverpool’s first attack of note earns them a corner which Norwich don’t deal with and Minamino is unmarked at the back post.
Still plenty for the Japanese to do but he swivels and buries it. Great finish, nightmare start for Norwich.
KICK-OFF!

We are underway...

The teams are on their way out at a buzzing Carrow Road. Almost showtime...
Jurgen Klopp has been talking about Kaide Gordon

“He’s a really good player and you’ll see that immediately.”
19:25 , Malik Ouzia
Daniel Farke has just been speaking to Sky Sports and pretty much confirmed his side will play with a back-three tonight.
He talks about needing to be flexible but ultimately says it’s a bit more defensive solidity he’s looking for.
19:13 , Malik Ouzia
The tributes to one of English football’s greatest goalscorers, Jimmy Greaves, will continue around the country tonight.
The Tottenham legend passed away over the weekend at the age of 81.

And Jurgen Klopp is not the only man to have made nine changes, with Daniel Farke doing likewise.
Only Canaries captain Grant Hanley and Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour remained in the XI that lost to Watford last weekend and Farke has seemingly ditched his usual 4-3-3 formation for three at the back.
Gordon makes debut
18:55 , Malik Ouzia
The big news from the Liverpool team is that 16-year-old Kaide Gordon and 18-year-old Conor Bradley are handed their first-team debuts.
Jurgen Klopp has made nine changes to the side which beat Crystal Palace 3-0 on Saturday, with only summer signing Ibrahima Konate and left-back Kostas Tsimikas retaining their places.
Joe Gomez wears the captain’s armband while Curtis Jones represents the club for the 50th time and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is recalled.

Standard Sport prediction
18:29 , Malik Ouzia
Given Liverpool are likely to field a weakened side, Norwich could fancy their chances of at least pushing Klopp’s men all the way but much will depend on Daniel Farke’s own team selection - will he go all out in pursuit of a morale-boosting result or will he, too, rest players, with the Premier League relegation fight his priority?
Norwich 1-2 Liverpool
Here’s how we think Liverpool could lineup...
18:19 , Malik Ouzia
Kelleher, Gomez, Konate, Phillips, Milner, Jones, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gordon, Minamino, Origi
Liverpool team news
18:07 , Malik Ouzia
Jurgen Klopp rotated his side heavily across the course of Liverpool’s last two games and is likely to give more opportunities to fringe players here, meaning the potential for more minutes for the likes of Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Summer signing Ibrahima Konate could be handed another start, while Nat Phillips - who was key in the midst of last season’s defensive injury crisis but has slipped well down the pecking order as players have returned - will also be keen to be involved.
Harvey Elliott and Roberto Firmino remain out, while Thiago Alcantara is unlikely to feature after limping off against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
