Yahoo Finance Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son accuses Jose Mourinho of diversion tactics after bizarre row: ‘I always get food!’
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son has laughed off Jose Mourinho's criticism of his dad following Sunday's match and accused the Tottenham manager of deflection tactics.
After Manchester United's 3-1 win in north London, Mourinho took aim at Solskjaer over the Norwegian's claim that Heung-min Son "wouldn't get any food" if he was his son after the South Korean's role in United's disallowed goal.
Edinson Cavani's strike was ruled out by the referee for a Scott McTominay foul on Son in the build-up, prompting Solskjaer to tell TV cameras post-match: "We shouldn’t be conned. If my son stayed down for three minutes and needed 10 mates to help him up, he wouldn’t get any food."
In a classic diversionary rant following another Spurs collapse, Mourinho said: "I am a father. I think as a father you have always to feed your kids. Doesn’t matter what they do. If you have to steal to feed your kids, you steal. I'm very, very disappointed. As we say in Portugal, bread is bread and cheese and is cheese."
The Spurs boss also accused journalists of lacking the "moral honesty" to treat him the same as other managers after he was not directly asked about Solskjaer's comments during his post-match Zoom press conference.
Now the eldest of Solskjaer's two sons, Noah, a player for Norwegian club Kristiansund BK, has had his say, insisting that he has never gone hungry.
"I always get food – I can assure everyone about that," the 20-year-old told local newspaper Tidens Krav.
"I laughed well on Sunday. I had never been lying down the way Son did. Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact that they had lost."
