One hospitalised with head injury after crash on major North East A road
One person has been taken to hospital after a crash on a major North East A road on Saturday night (September 24).
Emergency services were called to the A19 northbound near the Shotton Colliery slip road just after 9:15pm on Saturday night following reports of a crash involving one car.
Both police and the ambulance service attended the crash which saw one person taken to hospital with a head injury.

A Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: "Police were called at 9:15pm yesterday (September 24) to a one-vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway of the A19 at Peterlee, near the exit for Shotton Colliery.
"The occupant of the vehicle suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital by paramedics.
"A streetlight was also damaged during the collision."
A North East Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called just before 9.20 last night to a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the A19 slip road for Shotton Colliery.
"We dispatched a double-crewed ambulance and one person was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital."
