One of the more unique Ferraris in recent memory is set to change hands this weekend.
The one-of-a-kind 2011 Ferrari SP30 Berlinetta is the standout lot of Bonhams’s inaugural Miami sale on Saturday. The custom coupe is believed to be the first Ferrari Special Projects vehicle to hit the open market.

Ferrari has always created tailor-made vehicles for its most valued customers. But in the early 1990s, it decided to take things a step further. Around this time, the Italian marque set up a secretive division called the Special Projects Department solely focused on building dream cars for its most demanding (and deep-pocketed) clients. The Prancing Horses built by the unit didn’t just come loaded with off-the-menu options; they also sometimes featured completely bespoke bodies—like this build.
The SP30 Berlinetta is, in essence, a re-bodied 599 GTO. The new exterior is more athletic thanks to better-defined lines, an aggressive aero package, and headlights borrowed from the 458 Italia. It’s finished in Rosso Fuoco with blackened carbon-fiber accents and model-specific decals on the hood and doors. The interior is covered in bespoke gray Alcantara upholstery and features special branding, including the vehicle’s code name stitched into both of its sport seats. The car also comes with a luggage set that matches the decor of the cabin.
Like the 599 GTO, the one-off is powered by a 6.0-liter V-12. The beefy mill is mated to a Formula 1-derived six-speed automated manual transmission that sends 612 hp to the rear axle. Thanks to that, the car can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph. It seems unlikely that this car has ever been pushed to the max since leaving the factory. Bonhams describes it as being “virtually new” and says it had just 121 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging.
An Indian industrialist based in the United Arab Emirates originally commissioned the special Ferrari, but the rid was was seized and imported to the U.S. following a “massive” financial default, according to Bonhams. The former owner’s loss is set to be one collector’s gain when the SP30 Berlinetta hits the auction block on Saturday night. It won’t come cheap, of course. The auction house expects the one-of-a-kind coupe to sell for between $2.25 million and $2.75 million.
