Yahoo Finance Ontario sees another day of more than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario reported more then 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row.
On Wednesday, the province reported 2,139 new cases, including 780 new cases in Toronto, 528 in Peel, 148 in York Region, 143 in Durham and 111 in Windsor-Essex County.
Earlier in the day, Toronto Mayor John Tory told CP24 that the city is in talks with the provincial government on stricter restrictions that could be put in place over the Christmas holiday.
Ontario also confirmed 43 more COVID-19 deaths, bringing the total to 4,035.
The province completed 49,189 tests in the previous day, with 65,597 tests currently under investigation.
In Ontario, there are currently 932 people with COVID-19 in hospitals, including 256 in ICUs.
There are 135 long-term care home in Ontario with an active outbreak, which involves 728 active cases in residents and 788 active cases in staff.
Ontario also reported 223 new school-related COVID-19 cases, including 188 student cases, 34 staff cases and one case that has not been identified. There are still 20 schools that have been closed due to COVID-19 concerns.
