Orlando Bloom has brought another dog into his life, months after he was left heartbroken over the death of his and Katy Perry’s pet pooch Mighty.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star posted a photograph on Instagram of his new foster dog snuggling up to him in bed.

Bloom told fans that the pooch – who is called Buddy – could never replace Mighty but that he has “really filled my heart”.

“Nothing can replace mighty man, but fostering this little guy has really filled my heart - if you've never fostered or are considering, I'd highly recommend it - it leaves two beings better off & remember what they say never judge a book by its cover.”

“Thanks to @tobiessmalldogrescue also @thelabellefoundation for helping me to find my best ‘buddy’,” the actor added.

Bloom revealed in July that his and Perry's dog Mighty had died after going missing.

He wrote on Instagram at the time: "Mighty’s on the other side now. After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day ~the number of completion~ we found his collar...

“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing..."

“I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond.

"He was more than a companion. It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you. RIP my MIGHTY HEART my little fellow A."
