Get paid to keep Buckingham Palace's gardens pristine
The Queen is hiring a live-in gardener to help tend to Buckingham Palace's plants and flowers in its large gardens.
With hundreds of visitors every year to the Palace, the applicants must be motivated to present the gardens to exceptional standards. 'You’ll keep the lawns in top condition, from regular mowing and edging, to raking, re-seeding and top dressing,' explains the job listing.
The permanent role is full-time, five days a week and situated at Buckingham Palace. Dependant on experience, the salary starts at £18,100, with 15 per cent employer contribution pension scheme and benefits.
As well as planting new shrubbery, bulbs and seasonal flower displays, the right person will be able to create a spectacular setting for the historic building, as well for high profile events which regularly take place at Buckingham Palace.
The job spec goes on to say: 'We’re a busy team, so self-discipline and time management skills are vital. Working closely with colleagues will be important to you, and you'll have the skills to communicate with a range of people.
'With initiative and a confident approach, you'll also be keen to research and explore new ideas for developing the gardens and grounds. You’ll aim for perfection and learn from expert colleagues, where the results of your work will be seen, and admired, by a world-wide audience.'
If you have a passion for horticulture and an in-depth knowledge of plants, then this could be the job for you. Think you're the perfect fit for the role? The deadline is on 24th April, so there's still time to apply.
