Pan-European STOXX 600 index plunges 10%
LONDON, March 12 (Reuters) - Europe's benchmark STOXX 600 index slumped 10% on Thursday afternoon and was on track for its worst single-day drop ever on mounting worries of the potential economic impact from the coronavirus pandemic.
The stock selloff gathered pace post-noon after the European Central Bank announced a stimulus plan but kept interest rates unchanged, trumping a widely expected 10 basis point cut. (Reporting by Thyagaraju Adinarayan, edited by Julien Ponthus)
