Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory dies, aged 52
Helen McCrory has died of cancer, aged 52. The tragic news was confirmed by her husband, Damian Lewis, today, 16 April. The couple, who married in 2007, have two children.
The British actress was best known for her roles on Peaky Blinders and Harry Potter, but was also an established theatre veteran. In 2017, she was awarded an OBE for services to drama.
"I'm heartbroken to announce that after an heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from family and friends," wrote Lewis on Twitter.
"She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you."
