A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton isn't quitting the series, despite recent rumours.

The 38-year-old, who's been on the series team since 2012, joked about doing her own Priscilla, Queen of the Desert-esque travel show, but has since been forced to firmly deny any wish to leave the Channel 4 programme.

"There is no rumour. I didn't even say I was looking to leave," she told Entertainment Daily.

"In fact, I had a conversation with my boss because it really upset me and I never ever said I was looking to leave. Why would I?

"It's just terrible. Because I'd said I work on other TV projects and I'd love to do other travel things, that doesn't mean you're going to leave a project that you're already working on."

Hamilton continued to explain: "I own a coffee shop and a restaurant. That doesn't mean because I own a coffee shop and a restaurant that I'm going to leave my TV job and do that full-time, do you know what I mean?"

Criticising journalists who 'twisted' her words, the TV presenter suggested that their mishandling of the quotes could've spelled trouble for her career.

"It's just terrible how people twist things that are said. It's not fair. People do need to be careful about the things they write," she noted.

"It could have actually been very detrimental to my career and I think that's really unfair. I'm not going anywhere."

A Place in the Sun airs on Channel 4.
