Detectives have released an image of a young man they would like to speak to after a teenage boy was stabbed and robbed in east London on Christmas Eve.

The 16-year old victim was reportedly walking towards Forest Gate railway station, at around 6pm on December 24 last year, when he was approached by two males. One of the pair stole his phone before stabbing him in the arm, the Metropolitan Police said.

They then fled on an electric scooter towards Earlham Grove.

Police found the victim with stab wounds to his arm after they were called to the scene on nearby Woodgrange Road.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged, Scotland Yard said.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery on Christmas Day, the force added.

He was bailed to a date at the end of January.

Detective Constable Nikki Tanner, investigating, said: “I’m asking the public to take a good look at the male in this image and if they recognise him to get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 5207/24Dec.
