A search is under way for a woman missing in south London for two days.

Sarah Everard, 33, disappeared as she walked home to Brixton from the Clapham Junction area at about 9pm on Wednesday.

Police say they are growing “increasingly concerned” about her and have appealed for anyone with information to ring 999.

Ms Everard was last seen in the Clapham Common area.

She spoke to her partner by phone as she walked but was not heard from after about 9.30pm, police said.

Her phone signal was last picked up near Clarence Avenue, between her home and where she left another friend.

Loved ones unable to contact her the next day alerted the police, friend Rose Woollard said, according to the BBC.

Ms Everard is 5ft 4in, has a slim build and blonde hair, and was wearing a green coat, navy trousers and trainers, and had in-ear headphones on.

Ms Woollard described her friend as “beautiful, thoughtful and incredibly kind”, saying: “Sarah and I met many years ago whilst studying together at Durham University.

“She has always been an exceptional friend, dropping everything to be there to support her friends, whenever they need her.

“It was only recently that she was telling me the good news about her new role as a senior marketing account manager, which she was excited to start.

“It is extremely uncharacteristic of her to have gone missing, which is why we are all deeply concerned something has happened to her.”
