Posh Car: Beckham Designs New Range Rover

Fashion designer Victoria Beckham has turned her hand to cars after helping create a luxurious special edition Range Rover.

The former Spice Girl was in Beijing to unveil the new off-road Special Edition 'Evoque' on Sunday.

Beckham said she had "David in mind", referring to her footballer husband, when creating the car which has rose gold accents inside and out and vintage-inspired leather seats.

"I've designed a car that I want to drive, a car that I think David wants to drive. I think that though women will drive this car, it has a masculine edge. I think it's very cool," she said.

The vehicle also has bespoke luxury accessories, such as a four-piece leather luggage set and a hand-sewn leather wallet for the owner's manual signed by Victoria Beckham.

And she said she used a number of sources to help give her some ideas: "I did a lot of research and not just with cars, old and new, but boats, planes, movie stars, different locations. I mean I really, really did a lot of research.

"It would be hard to pinpoint exactly where the inspiration came from. It's just what I like, that's the bottom line. I don't try to be too technical about it. It's just what I like, It's what feels real to me."

The designer's clothes line has been hugely successful across the globe and in 2011 she won the Designer Brand award given by the British Fashion Council, beating Burberry, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford.

Only 200 of the £80,000 Range Rover will be made, the first of which will be rolled out in China as early as October.
