Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed the signing of Brennan Johnson, after reportedly agreeing on a fee of £47.5m with Nottingham Forest.
Ange Postecoglou made the Wales international his top target as he believes the pacy winger fits in with his attacking style perfectly.
Johnson scored eight goals and made three assists in the Premier League last season and has been linked with a host of top clubs. He is only expected to improve as he gains experience, too.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Chelsea considered a move for the 22-year-old after missing out on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.
Tottenham have won the race for Johnson’s signature, however, with the Welshman putting pen to paper on a contract which will keep him at the London club until 2029. He will wear the number 29 shirt.
As mentioned, the fee agreed between Tottenham and Nottingham Forest is approximately £47.5m – a record-breaking sale for the Tricky Trees.
