** Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), which manages the grid, is planning to announce this week that it is launching consultations for a new procurement process for non-emitting electricity. Although that could also include new hydro and biomass generation, wind and solar are expected to be major components.

** BlackBerry Ltd has promoted cybersecurity President John Giamatteo to replace recently departed Chief Executive John Chen and killed plans to spin off its connected car software business into a separate public company.

** Two IT staffing companies that worked on the ArriveCan app and received more than C$400 million ($294.72 million) in federal contract work over the past decade, including frequent use of a set-aside program for Indigenous business, have never been audited to determine whether they delivered on the program’s requirements to support Indigenous entrepreneurs.
