The Pink Geranium dates back to the mid 17th century and has an unusual claim to fame – it was once Princes Charles' favourite restaurant.

The future king of England was a regular at the restaurant back when he was a student at Cambridge, the Evening Standard reports. The eatery was also said to be popular amongst celebrities, with the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Rod Stewart and Ruby Wax having all previously dined there.

Located in the village of Melbourn, near Royston, the restaurant was converted into living accommodation in 2012.

Now a five-bedroom detached house, it has undergone extensive renovation with the addition of a new thatch in the roof, plumbing and electrics.

The Cambridgeshire home blends traditional and modern, with period highlights in the exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and brick chimney breasts. Solid wood flooring greets you in the entrance hall, with most of the ground floor enjoying underfloor heating.

The modern kitchen contains storage units designed by contemporary German designer Kuch, and a range of Siemens appliances, including a self-cleaning oven, induction hob and microwave.

The home also has a study, playroom and a spacious and rustic sitting room with a beautiful fireplace and wooden beams. An extension was added in 2012, which contains two guest bedrooms and a playroom.

Meanwhile, the property's outside grounds cover a third of an acre, with a pretty enclosed lawn and patio.

This property is available for £1,195,000 through TuckerGardner.
