Prince Harry Shares Rare Insight Into The Queen And Prince Philip's 'Adorable' Relationship

Prince Harry has lovingly shared his admiration for the Queen and Prince Philip in a rare Royal Family documentary, describing them as an 'adorable couple'.

The exclusive BBC One programme, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, features interviews from the Royal Family sharing memories of the Queen's late husband, who died at the age of 99 in April.

The 37-year-old's appearance in the documentary marks the first time we've seen him collaborate on a televised project with his immediate family members since he and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the Monarchy in March 2020.

Looking through flight logs from his pilot grandfather, Prince Harry says of the Duke of Edinburgh in a teaser of the documentary, per the Daily Mail: 'He had an amazing privilege to get behind the controls and fly aircraft all around the world.'

The father-of-two also reportedly delivers a sweet impression of his grandmother the Queen, noting: 'I can just imagine my grandmother sitting in the back of a plane having a cup of tea, going through turbulence and going: "Oh Philip! What are you doing?"'

The documentary has been described as a 'unique portrait of the longest-serving consort in royal history,' and will feature 'poignant recollections, plenty of humour and numerous fresh insights into the character and legacy of this royal pioneer'.

While Prince Charles, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall feature in the TV special, BAZAAR.com previously confirmed that Kate Middleton and Markle do not make an appearance.

Earlier in the summer the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK to attend Prince Philip's funeral and his first joint engagement with his brother Prince William since he moved Stateside 15 months prior. During his visit, the brothers marked what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday by attending an unveiling of a statue they commissioned in the garden of Kensington Palace, London.

In recent months there has been growing speculation that tensions have been high in the family since the Sussexes' bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, during which Markle opened up about her mental health deteriorating while working as a senior member of the royal family, and the pair claimed that 'concerns and comments' had been made within the family over 'how dark' their children's skin would be.

In response, Buckingham Palace release a statement on behalf of the Queen, which read:

The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.

Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers will air on September 22 on BBC One.
