Promethean World shares slip as loss widens

LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Education equipment company Promethean World (Other OTC: PMTWF - news) posted a bigger first half loss, off weaker revenues. Shares (Berlin: DI6.BE - news) in the company, which makes interactive screens for classrooms, were down by 0.32% to 38.75p at 1537 BST. In July the company agreed to be taken over by Chinese software company NetDragon Websoft (HKSE: 0777.HK - news) , in a deal worth £84.1 m.

Promethean World posted a 65% bigger loss in the first six months of this year to £7,114m from £4.311m.

Revenue was down to £52.8m from £57.7m, while the company posted a basic loss per share of 3.49p from 2.15p.
