PTC Inc. reports 1Q loss

NEEDHAM, Mass. (AP) _ PTC Inc. (PTC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $9.1 million in its fiscal first quarter.

The Needham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 26 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 26 cents per share.

The product development software maker posted revenue of $286.3 million in the period, also meeting Street forecasts.

For the current quarter ending in April, PTC Inc. expects its per-share earnings to range from 26 cents to 31 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $280 million to $285 million for the fiscal second quarter.

PTC Inc. expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.20 to $1.30 per share, with revenue ranging from $1.17 billion to $1.18 billion.

PTC Inc. shares have climbed slightly more than 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $47.38, an increase of 57 percent in the last 12 months.
