Pure Storage Launches New Solutions Backed by Cisco & NVIDIA

Pure Storage Inc. PSTG recently introduced FlashStack with FlashBlade to speed up the analytics processes for the data warehouses. Further, the company announced the availability of both AIRI and AIRI Mini, with select reseller partners.

Markedly, AIRI and AIRI Mini which provide users with comprehensive AI ready infrastructure, leverages NVIDIA’s NVDA DGX-1 servers.

The new FlashStack solution, developed on its FlashBlade solution is customized to accelerate the performance of Oracle’s ORCL Data Warehouse.

Additionally, Cisco CSCO has validated the converged infrastructure solution. Consequently, the new products can be leveraged by both Pure Storage and Cisco customers. It will assist the users to create “a spectrum of data analytics”. As a result, the users can gain meaningful insights from data which will eventually accelerate innovative methods.

Pure Storage is rapidly gaining traction in the flash storage market, which is evident from its expanding customer base. This is also driving its share price. Notably, Pure Storage’s stock has returned 52.6% year to date, substantially outperforming industry’s 22.2% rally.



FlashStack & AIRI: Features & Availability

Per the press release, FlashStack offers greater than 2X faster performance when compared with similar systems in the market. The users have the liberty to pay as per their amount of compute and blades requirements to complete their respective Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and analytics related projects. This flexibility parameter makes the product cost-effective.

FlashStack with FlashBlade can be availed from all the FlashStack certified reseller partners. We believe the attempt to bridge the gap between single server solutions and AIRI with FlashStack holds promise.

AIRI is developed by leveraging Pure Storage’s FlashBlade solution in collaboration with Cisco. Meanwhile, AIRI Mini puts into use Cisco’s 100 GbE switches, NVIDIA’s DGX-1 servers, and the company’s FlashBlade solutions.

The company believes AIRI will cut short the time required for data to generate valuable insights significantly, consequently, accelerating innovation.

Per Gartner, 80% of enterprises are anticipated to deploy AI within 2020, which enhances the prospects of AIRI.

How will Pure Storage Benefit?

The high performance and low latency features of flash-storage make it the ideal storage technology to harness this data explosion. We believe that being a pure-play flash storage provider Pure Storage is well-positioned to benefit from this trend.

Moreover, the storage initiatives to accelerate AI related processes for the clientele will aid the company’s growth going ahead.

A Forbes article stated that by 2035 productivity can be increased by around 40% or more with the adoption of AI technologies.

TechEmergence quoted Tractica stating that direct and indirect applications of AI are expected to generate revenues of around $36.8 billion by 2025 from $643.7 million in 2016, representing CAGR of 56.8% in the aforementioned timeframe.

With the new solutions, backed by Cisco and NVIDIA, the company can capitalize on massive lucrative opportunities in the market, which will in due course boost the company’s top-line.
