The Queen wows in vintage photograph from 1954 royal tour of Australia
The royal family's official Twitter account shared a beautiful black and white photograph of Her Majesty the Queen on Monday (25 January) to mark Australia Day.
In the stunning snap, we see a young Queen Elizabeth being welcomed by a line of soldiers, after she and Prince Philip sailed into Sydney in 1954. The moment took place during the monarch's first royal tour of Australia.
Looking beautifully regal yet windswept in the vintage picture, the 27-year-old Queen looks like a Hollywood film star in her waist-cinching, long-sleeved midi dress with coordinating hat.
