Quoted company
Its shares can be publicly traded. Quoted companies must abide by the rules of the exchange which can include maintaining a certain market capitalisation or number of shareholders and meeting financial reporting requirements such as releasing results on a timely basis. In the UK these are set by the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange. If they fail to meet these requirements companies may be delisted. Quoted companies are also called listed companies.
