Countdown’s Rachel Riley has announced that she is expecting her second child with her former Strictly Come Dancing husband, Pasha Kovalev.
The 35-year-old took to Instagram to share her happy news and did it in a hilarious way. She uploaded a photograph of herself holding her stomach in front of the Countdown letters board and asked her fans to work out the conundrum 'fittriley'. It turns out it spells 'fertility'.
Captioning the image, she wrote: “A special teatime teaser! 🤗
And your clue is... Riley had this to thank for the reason her clothes no longer fit her...
And it’ll only get worse till Autumn! 😉🌈👶🏻
Happy, happy days for our little family @pashakovalev and future big sister Mave ☺️❤️.”
Her followers were absolutely delighted with the news and were quick to comment. One said, “Aww lovely news congratulations” while another wrote, “Yay! Love a bit of baby news! Congratulations to you all”.
Rachel and Pasha, 41, met while partnered on Strictly in 2013 and got married in 2019 in Las Vegas. They welcomed their first child, daughter Maven, the following year.
In a recent interview with HELLO! Magazine, Rachel opened up about their desire to expand their family. She said: “I think we'd like another one... Some of my friends had twins by accident and a few of them have got three little ones and everyone seemed to have them straight after. No one regrets it though, do they?”
The presenter also talked about parenting in lockdown and revealed one of Maven's favourite activities.
She said: "She's very happy, she loves dancing. She's done her first couple of tantrums last week, which at 14 months I'm like ok...it's kind of funny."
However, she also revealed that she is sad Maven hasn't been able to socialise with other babies and children this past year.
"Maven was three months old when we went into lockdown, so she's not socialised with other children, she's not used to going out to a café and sitting and behaving herself or anything so it's going to be a bit of a challenge, but parenting is a challenge isn't it and kids are adaptable, hopefully!"
