Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills announces engagement to partner Sam Vaughan

Congratulations are in order for BBC Radio 1 favourite Scott Mills, as the DJ is officially engaged!

Mills, who presents shows on Radio 1 and 5 Live, confirmed the happy news with a series of sweet photos on Instagram yesterday (October 25).

Revealing a sneak peek of his proposal set-up, as well as a few adorable couple selfies, Scott told followers that he had popped the question to partner Sam Vaughan after four years together – who, of course, said yes.

"Some Happy News! After 4 years together I'm delighted to say we got engaged at the weekend. As @samvaughan89 knows, I always said I didn't think I would ever get married," Scott wrote. "But then I met you Sam.

"You make me laugh every single day, you support me in so many ways and I adore everything about you. As soon as I met you I knew this could be something special and it is (after a slow start).

"We've had some amazing times, and I'm bursting with happiness to know we will have so many more. I love you with all my heart."

A loved-up Sam shared a similar post, offering followers a look at his engagement ring in the process. "The beginning of forever," he wrote, before admitting his relief he had found someone who's "as obsessed with Sky News" as he is.

"I've had the most amazing four years and can't wait to continue our journey," Sam added. "I never thought I'd find somebody who's as obsessed with Sky News as me and I can't wait to call him my husband!"

Scott Mills isn't the only BBC Radio presenter who's been busy celebrating over the weekend – DJ and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host Rylan Clark-Neal also marked his 33rd birthday with a glamorous party.
