Rangold CEO says Ivory Coast mine on track for 260,000 oz gold

ABIDJAN, July 24 (Reuters) - Randgold Resources' Tongon mine in Ivory Coast is on track to produce 260,000 ounces of gold this year, up from 242,948 ounces last year, CEO Mark Bristow told reporters late on Saturday.

The figure was lower than an earlier forecast of 290,000 ounces, and Bristow said this was chiefly owing to an erratic power supply. An upgrade to its generator would ramp up production to 300,000 ounces in 2017, he said. (Reporting by Loucoumane Coulibaly; Writing by Tim Cocks; Editing by Louise Heavens)
