Rapper Chris Brown Posts Instagram Videos During Police Standoff

US singer Chris Brown has ended a stand-off with police at his home in California after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman there.

The rapper left his home in Los Angeles after initially refusing to come out for several hours while posting a series of videos on Instagram declaring his innocence before his lawyer Mark Geragos arrived.

Police arrived at Brown's home after the woman called them for help after leaving the property.

In one Instagram video Brown waves a cigarette while looking at the camera and declares that if and when police get the warrant, they'll find nothing at the home. He dismissed TV reports he was "barricaded" inside.

Police Lt Chris Ramirez said around half-a-dozen people were escorted out of the property and will be interviewed later.

Brown has been in repeated legal trouble since his conviction in 2009 for assaulting then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

In 2015 he was given 28 days to convince officials he should be given a visa for his Australian tour after the country's Women's Minister Michaelia Cash urged Immigration Minister Peter Dutton to refuse entry to Brown on grounds of "character".

The Grammy-winning singer postponed a British tour in 2010 after he was denied a visa and in February was declined entry into Canada.
