The Redditor shared their dating theories on Reddit’s “Dating Advice” forum, providing a list of their top five pieces of advice for proceeding in your love life. The list outlined some of the ways people can gauge whether their relationship partner is truly “into” them.
“Let’s face it: Most of the time the answer is, ‘They are just not that into you.’” the advice giver writes.
Then they share their five pieces of advice that they claim are common sense but “so easy to forget or ignore.”
First, they write, “If they are truly into you, dating will be easy.”
Second, and relatedly, they write, “If they are not that into you, dating will be messy.”
Third, they claim that if you feel that you need to be “perfect” in order to date someone, that’s also a sign that “they are not that into you.”
“When someone is into someone else for real, they often ignore the worst red flags,” they write. “If they can’t get past a minor inconvenience, it’s because they don’t really care about you.”
Fourth, they claim that “99% of people will know if they are into you in the span of minutes.” They advise against waiting around to see if someone develops feelings for you, arguing that most people know how they feel right away.
And finally, they advise, “If you are not that into someone, don’t date them.”
“Too many people date without even being interested,” the post’s author concludes. “If you have options, what are you doing? You are just wasting each other’s time.”
