Remains Of Baby Found At Recycling Plant

Police have appealed to the public following the discovery of the remains of a newborn baby at a recycling plant in Ireland.

The baby girl's body was found by a staff member at the Greenstar waste facility in Fassaroe, Bray, Co Wicklow.

Police say it is possible the baby was stillborn, and have expressed concern about her mother.

Superintendent Pat Ward said: "We don't know what exactly happened leading up to the birth of the baby.

"However, it is possible that the baby was stillborn and if this is the case my priority now is to get all medical assistance and support to the baby's mum.

"I am very concerned for the welfare of the mum of this baby as she is possibly in a distressed state and in need of medical assistance.

"I would please ask for the mum to seek immediate medical treatment."

The girl's body has been removed to Loughlinstown Hospital.
