A DOG rehoming event is taking place this weekend in Worcester.

High Hopes Dog Rescue is hosting a Meet The Dogs event to help find dogs their forever homes this Sunday (March 26).

The event is being held at The Cob House Countryside Park, in Wichenford, between midday and 4pm.

The rescue is run by founder Samantha Watson, and volunteers Drea Hinton, Lou Turner and Hayley Cartland.

Drea Hinton said the event will feature a wide variety of dogs of different breeds and backgrounds in High Hopes’ care.

"As a rescue, we take in dogs from anywhere and everywhere, from a variety of different backgrounds and breeds.

"At these events, we try to get as many dogs as we can in our care down so that attendees can hopefully help find them their forever home."

Dogs at the event will range from four years old to four months old.

Drea Hinton said: "All the dogs are handled by volunteers, who will be wearing High Hopes hoodies, and there will be fact sheets explaining a bit about the dogs' backgrounds.

"Of course, we will also be on hand to answer any questions as well.

"There will be a chance to take the dog on a short walk in the area to see how the potential adopter gels with the dog.

"We have adoption forms that can be filled out on the day and our team will be on hand to explain the following steps for interest people."

There will also be some dogs which will not be there due to their fosterers being unable to attend, but there will be information about those dogs available on the day.

High Hopes does not have a centralised location, as many of the dog are in foster care with volunteers of the business.
