It (Other OTC: ITGL - news) hosts your photos, videos, thoughts on life and your entire online friend network - for free.
But while Facebook (NasdaqGS: FB - news) might seem like a bargain, new data from a marketing firm suggests you're worth around £32 per year to the social network.
The figure applies to users in the US but it is likely to be similar for UK users.
Mark Zuckerberg's site hoovers up 65% of worldwide social media ad spending, and is expected to rake in $16.3bn (£10.6bn) this year.
That's up 41% from the $11.5bn (£7.5bn) in ad revenue it earned in 2014, eMarketer said.
The income is boosted by the growing popularity of Instagram, which Facebook bought in 2012 for $1bn.
It recently overtook Twitter (Xetra: A1W6XZ - news) in the number of active monthly users , and is expanding its advertising operations.
In 2015 it is likely to account for 5% of Facebook's total revenue.
eMarketer says Western Twitter users are worth £16.04, significantly less than Facebook users.
It has struggled to turn its much smaller user base into advertising dollars.
