Rhea Chakraborty out of jail after 28 days; here are bail conditions

The Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea Chakraborty on one lakh bail bond on Wednesday, 7 October. The court has directed Rhea to appear at her nearest police station for 10 days after she has been released. The actor has also been restricted from leaving the country.

Rhea left the Byculla jail on Wednesday evening, accompanied by her lawyer Satish Maneshinde.

Welcoming the decision, actor Farhan Akhtar held news channels accountable for dragging Rhea through hell. "Any shrill anchors apologising for the hell they put #RheaChakraborty and her family through? Didn’t think so. But watch them shift the goalpost now .. they’re notorious for that".

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted, "Now go fight elections on real issues, for the people and get elected by the people. Don't fight them at the altar of a girl's life, a family's peace and by exploiting tragedy. Serve the people. Not your vested interests".

Expressing his relief at the court's judgment Anubhav Sinha wrote that the CBI should now investigate who were running the murder conspiracy theory. "The Next thing CBI should probably investigate is who were the people running the Sushant murder conspiracy theory and why. They must go to jail", Sinha tweeted.

Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh has written a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation, raising objections to the report submitted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Singh says in the letter that despite attempts to access the report, there has been no communication from the forensics head Dr Sudhir Gupta. A few days back, Gupta had said in an interview that the AIIMS team concluded that Sushant died by suicide.

Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh writes a letter to CBI Director, raising objections over forensic examination report submitted by AIIMS to CBI & calling it faulty.

Calling the report a 'biased and boastful conclusion from insufficient evidence, Singh writes, "AIIMS was not doing a post-mortem report but was only to express its opinion with regard to the post-mortem report done by the Cooper Hospital as AIIMS did not have the privilege of examining the body of Sushant Singh Rajput and forming a firsthand opinion about the cause of death".

However, the latter states that "recently Dr Sudhir Gupta has selectively leaked to a couple of media houses incriminating content of the report submitted to CBI, irresponsibly commenting that the death of Sushant Singh Rajput is 'conclusively' a case of suicide and there is no foul play. Clearly the said leak is aimed at creating doubts in the mind of people..."

Vikas Singh, in his letter, called the conduct of Sudhir Gupta 'unethical and unprofessional' and requested that the case be referred to another forensic team to be constituted by the CBI.

Putting to rest reports questioning his statement in August, Sudhir Gupta had told India Today, “Everyone had doubts when the Central Bureau of Investigation took over the case. We investigated all the doubts and then came to this conclusion. A seven-member team of senior doctors concluded that Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide”.

Sushant’s father KK Singh had filed an FIR in Patna, Bihar, accusing Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of abetment to suicide and also siphoning of Rs. 15 crore from Sushant’s account. Now, Sushant’s bank audit reportedly revealed transactions of Rs 55 lakh between him and Rhea, and not Rs 15 crore, as the family had alleged.

According to CNN News 18, a fresh audit of Sushant’s bank account has revealed that a total of 55 lakh rupees transactions between Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput took place, and not 15 crore rupees, as the family had earlier claimed. CBI sources told the news channel that this was spent mostly on travel spas and gifts. These details are reportedly from a bank audit report that has been handed over to the CBI.

CNN News 18 reported that even when the Mumbai Police was probing, they got the same bank audit report which said that such a massive amount of Rs 15 crore was not transferred from Sushant to Rhea’s account.

The Rs 55 lakh transactions reportedly include direct transactions as well as the money spent by Sushant on Rhea which includes spa, travel and other such expenditures. This forensic audit of Sushant’s bank account refutes allegations by Sushant’s family of siphoning of Rs 15 crore.
