Motorist taken to hospital after crash this morning

Police and emergency services have closed a road in Clitheroe following a crash between a car and motorbike this morning.

UPDATE: The road has now re-opened.

Chatburn Road, from the Shell Garage to the junction of Lime Street, has been shut due to the crash.

Police were called to Chatburn Road at around 7.30am.

A male motorcyclist is suffering with leg, arm and back injuries and has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to Chatburn Road, Clitheroe at 7.28am this morning to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

"The motorcyclist, a male, has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with leg, arm and back injuries."

Drivers should use alternative routes where possible.

Police said they will update once the road has reopened.
