Rob Gronkowski jokes Chiefs should sign 'amazing' Super Bowl streaker: 'He actually scored'

Anyone who is familiar with the personality of Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski knows that he would eventually say something about the infamous Super Bowl streaker. It's the kind of thing that's made for him. If Gronk was running his own version of The Onion, it's exactly the kind of thing he'd put on the front page, even though The Onion features fake news and the Super Bowl streaker actually happened.

Gronk fulfilled his destiny on Tuesday's "The Late Late Show with James Corden." He discussed his Super Bowl LV win against the Kansas City Chiefs with Corden, and of course the streaker came up.

"There were a couple guys on our team who were absolutely loving it," Gronkowski said about the streaker's run down the field on Sunday night. "They were like 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' And I feel like that was exactly what we needed to complete the night, because the night was going so smooth. We were scoring. Our defense was dominating, everyone was playing super well, we're up by a lot and all of a sudden here comes a streaker. And I was on the sideline like, 'Yes, this is what we needed... this streaker's amazing!'"

Gronk continued, complimenting the streaker's jukes to avoid security and his eventual slide into the end zone. With all that talent, plus the cross-field run he executed that was better than anything the Chiefs did all night, Gronk joked that the Chiefs should have snapped him up.

"He actually scored. The Chiefs didn't. He scored. They should definitely sign him," Gronk said.

The streaker, who has been charged with misdemeanor trespassing, probably wishes the Chiefs had done just that.
