Clarence House has shared black and white archive photos of the Queen and Prince Philip to coincide with the release of a new documentary about the Duke of Edinburgh.

Both the Royal Family and Clarence House Instagram accounts also shared sweet clips earlier this week ahead of the special documentary called, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers.

Both sets of videos showed a mix of interviews with family members sharing recollections, alongside sweet footage of the prince with his children as a young family.

In a shared caption the accounts said: "This week, a new documentary celebrating the life and work of The Duke of Edinburgh will air in the UK.

"Members of the Royal Family including The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge, The Princess Royal and The Earl of Wessex share recollections of their father and grandfather in this unique tribute to His Royal Highness."

In the clips the Princess Royal can be seen talking about fishing with her father as a little girl in Scotland, and The Earl of Wessex recounts fishing with his father, this time in row boats. Both accompanied by charming video of them as children with their father.

The TV special aired on BBC one at 9pm on Wednesday 22 September, and is now available on BBC iPlayer.

In another taster clip shared by Clarence House, Prince Philip can be seen having some kind of bike race with Charles and Anne, with the Queen running along behind. Charles narrates the clip saying of his young father; “He was marvellous at arranging silly games.”

To watch in the UK, tune in to BBC One at 9pm BST on 22 September.
The documentary is also available on BBC iPlayer.
