This Morning star Ruth Langsford has told how she once threatened to break a colleague’s arm after he pinched her bum.

The 60-year-old presenter was recently discussing sexism in the workplace when she revealed she was subjected to sexual harassment while bringing tea to colleagues.

Langsford, married to co-presenter Eamonn Holmes, told Kate Thornton about the incident while appearing on her White Wine Question Time podcast.

She shared: “I remember years ago when I had to take these big trays of tea around at certain times in the day for the VT engineers. It was all men.

“For some reason it was deemed to be my job as a woman. I remember taking this tray round and a guy pinched my a**.

“I put the tray down, I slapped his tea down, and said: 'If you ever touch me again, I'll break your f***ing arm'.”

She went on to discuss how sexism is still an issue in many workplaces, saying language can be an indicator in how men and women are treated differently.

She said: “You'd never call a man bossy.

“I mean if you were a guy and the editor of a magazine, they'd go 'he's so dynamic and young and amazing'.

“Why is it like: 'She's really bossy and annoying.' I think women have had to fight that and to some extent, still do. It will keep changing.”

Langsford is ever the advocate for equality, and earlier this year she branded her own husband “sexist” for admitting he never does the washing at home.

The exchange came about during a segment on This Morning which saw consumer expert Alice Beer ask Holmes if he knew what a particular item was.

When he was unable to spot it was a portable washing line, he said: “That’s why I wouldn’t know what it is because I would never use a washing line. I have no idea. I’ve never hung up the washing.”

This prompted Langford to scold: “Oh how sexist - that’s shameful to admit. Shameful.”
