RWE posts 9-percent decline in 9-month operating profit
FRANKFURT, Nov 12 (Reuters) - RWE (Xetra: 703712 - news) posted a 9-percent drop in operating profit, putting the utility on track for its third consecutive year of falling earnings and increasing pressure on Chief Executive Peter Terium to come up with a convincing turnaround plan.
Nine-month operating profit fell to 2.65 billion euros ($2.85 billion), slightly higher than the 2.59 billion average analyst estimate in a Reuters poll. (Reporting by Christoph Steitz; editing by Tom Pfeiffer)
