Few destinations are more fascinating than Iceland, where ancient ports and fishing villages are surrounded by spectacular scenery and wildlife.

North Iceland is where you'll find fewer tourists and less-travelled destinations - and next May, you can see them for yourself during Good Housekeeping's exclusive eight-night cruise.

I'M IN. SIGN ME UP!

The cruise departs from the UK, starting in Liverpool, where Hurtigruten's hybrid-powered ship MS Fridtjof Nansen will sail to the former Viking settlement of Stornoway, the largest town in Scotland’s Western Isles.

Arriving in Iceland, the colourful town of Seyðisfjörður will be your first stop. Set against mountains and waterfalls, its famous rainbow road and vibrant buildings offer a charming place to start your adventure.

Next, you can enjoy bird-watching on the tiny Icelandic island of Grímsey, high above the Arctic Circle, where puffins steal the show. Your next destination, Akureyri, is Iceland’s second city. En route, you’ll sail the Eyjafjörður fjord, viewing snow-capped peaks and looking out for whales.

A change of pace comes at the next stop - the peaceful village of Patreksfjörður. Finally, your voyage ends in Reykjavík to give you a taste of Iceland's south coast.

From here, you can explore geysers, glaciers and waterfalls, or simply head for the Blue Lagoon to end your journey with a relaxing spa-like experience. You might wish to extend your trip to see more of Iceland at your own pace by land or fly home to the UK.

Highlights of this unmissable Iceland cruise

See awe-inspiring wildlife

From humpback whales to white-beaked dolphins, there’s so much to look out for. You will also have the chance to spot seabirds, including black-tailed godwits, puffins, razorbills and, if you’re lucky, gyrfalcons, Europe’s largest falcon.
