Yahoo Finance Samsung Note 20: Release date, price and everything to know about Unpacked 2020
Samsung is preparing to launch a new smartphone and a host of devices on August 5. It will be its first major product launch since the lockdown, so there is not likely to be a glitzy stage and eager audience of fans for its new Galaxy Note.
Still, the South Korean smartphone maker will host a largely digital Galaxy Unpacked event and live stream on Wednesday to reveal its latest devices.
The new products expected to be on show will include its Samsung Galaxy Note 20, its high-end device that includes a stylus pen for taking notes. It is also expected to unveil a new Galaxy Watch and new earbuds as part of the event.
Samsung has not confirmed details of the new phones, but here is everything that is known so far about the event:

What to expect from the Samsung Note 20
The Note range of phones has come a long way from Samsung's embarrassing Note 7 saga, where phones with exploding batteries prompted a global recall. Now, the range showcases smartphone technology on larger "phablet" devices.
Samsung's latest line of Galaxy phones jumped from being called the S10 to S20 earlier this year, so bets are on for the Note following the same naming pattern. Earlier this year, Samsung revealed its Galaxy S20, with a 6.2-inch screen. The Note range normally fills the gap for a bigger device.
Renders and videos leaked by Evan Blass, a US smartphone blogger, reveal two devices, tentatively named the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Both phones are expected to come with 5G compatibility, meaning they will be able to enjoy even faster download speeds. They could also come with triple camera designs on the rear of the phone.

According to German publication WinFuture, specs to expect from the larger Note 20 Ultra include a 6.9-inch screen, a screen resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 and on the rear and a 108MP triple camera. The report also claims the new Samsung phone will come with either 256GB or 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Inside is a large 4,500mAh battery.
The report predicts the new Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be capable of streaming games over XCloud, Microsoft's video game streaming app. In terms of colours, leaked renders suggest models will come in copper, green, grey, white, black.
What else will be revealed?
A promotional video from Samsung suggests a raft of new devices could be teased at the upcoming event. At around 25 seconds, the silhouettes of devices appear to be, from left to right, its new headphones, watch, folding phone and Note 20.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Among the line up of gadgets that Samsung is planning to launch, one of the most hotly anticipated will be its new foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
This will be the follow up to Samsung's original Fold, the first folding phone from a major supplier. It featured a folding screen, a second screen and six cameras. The device could flip from a tablet into a phone that could be held in one hand. However, that initial launch proved a disaster, with phone screens and the hinge mechanism that allowed the devices to open vulnerable to damage.
Earlier this year, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Flip. Unlike the Fold, which had a tablet-like folding mechanism, the Z Flip featured a clamshell design, with the phone's screen folding top to bottom.
The new device is an upgraded version of this design, which should iron out some of the issues of the initial device. Stills from Samsung's YouTube promotion video showed a shadow of the new fold, with its double screen design.
According to supply chain consultant Ross Young, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will come with a 6.23-inch "front" screen - substantially larger than its predecessor, and a 7.3-inch screen when it is folded out.

New Galaxy Buds, new Watch
In addition to its phones, Samsung is expected to unveil an update to its Galaxy Buds, its wireless earphone rival to Apple's AirPods.
Samsung is preparing a new smartwatch, known as the Galaxy Watch 3, which follows designs of previous iterations with a rotating edge to the watch face and a touch screen. Samsung could also reveal a new Samsung Galaxy tablet, the Tab 7.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 cost?
It is not clear how much the new devices will cost. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is expected to start around €999 (£903) according to MySmartPrice. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the original model started at £1,900. This could come down slightly in the latest iteration.
