Samsung Unpacked launch event promises ‘the most powerful Galaxy yet’

Samsung has announced that its Unpacked event, where new products are expected to launch, will be happening on 28 April.

The teaser reveals little, but the smartphone giant says that customers should expect “the most powerful Galaxy” device yet.

It is unlikely that such a statement refers to a smartphone, or even its upcoming foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, for a few reasons. The first is that the device is likely to be smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 2, according to reports, and is also expected to be coming at a different event in July.

Even if it were larger there are many other Galaxy devices that are more powerful – such as laptops – which ties into the second reason: a recent leak of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360.

Neither laptop, announced in 2019, have been refreshed since the time, and still feature Intel’s 10th generation processors.

While specific hardware information is yet to be revealed, it is expected the devices will have OLED panels, S-Pen support, and an upgraded chipset. The Pro 360 is also expected to have 5G compatibility.

The laptops will reportedly launch in blue and silver, although the leaked images suggest a white variant as well. It is expected that a third laptop, the Galaxy Book Go, will also be launched.

Samsung is not the only tech giant to have let information slip, though. Apple’s next major launch event was seemingly unveiled by Siri.

“The special event is on Tuesday, April 20 at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA,” a message from the voice assistant read when users asked their devices. “You can get all the details at Apple.com.”

Apple is rumoured to be preparing a number of products for imminent launch, including new iPads, a new iMac, and the long-rumoured AirTags that will be used for tracking objects.
