Blenders are one of the most underrated kitchen appliances. However, you can use them to make tons of recipes — not just smoothies. A good blender can help you crush ice and make sauces, salad dressing, soups and even vegan cheese.

Nonetheless, if you need a blender that’s sharp, efficient and long-lasting, consider KitchenAid’s K400 Blender. For a limited time, you can get it for $80 off at Bed Bath & Beyond, making it just under $200. Yes, that’s still a hefty investment, but it comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee, so keep that in mind. Plus, it ships free!

The KitchenAid K400 Blender has a unique, asymmetric blade that chops and purées food from four different angles, according to the product description. While it has five speeds, the blender’s soft start feature avoids splatters by starting the motor at a slower speed to pull food into the blade, then increasing in speed to fully blend it. However, the blender also comes with a tamper to help blend tough ingredients more evenly.

Needless to say, if you’re getting a blender mostly to make smoothies and other icy drinks, this one is a good bet. That’s because there are three preset buttons on this thing: ice crush, icy drinks and smoothies.

94% of Bed Bath & Beyond reviewers say they would recommend the KitchenAid K400 Blender, giving it a collective 4.7 out of 5 stars. Most call it things like “powerful,” “pretty” and a “great machine,” but some say it’s just a little too big. The blender weighs 12 pounds, which is admittedly heavier than personal-sized blenders like NutriBullet.

Right now, the KitchenAid K400 Blender is available and on sale in four different colors, including matte black, blue velvet, passion red and contour silver. While there’s no telling when the deal ends, if you need a kitchen upgrade, make it fast.
