Selena Gomez debuts startling new neck tattoo -- Photos!

Selena Gomez is back on the scene in an epic comeback that's included a show-opening performance at the 2019 American Music Awards and the recent January 10 release of 'Rare', her first studio album in five years.

Gomez's dedication to her new album name and its next titular single just got infinitely more serious thanks to some new ink she was seen sporting on Instagram.

In a video posted early Thursday morning to the singer's Instagram, Gomez is seen sporting the word 'rare' in script on her neck as the camera pans and zooms in to below her ear:

"Did it again," Gomez captioned the post while tagging her tattoo artist @bangbangnyc, "🦋 rare".

The video was accompanied by a close up photo of her new ink.

The artist, New York-based Keith McCurdy who goes by the name Bang Bang, lovingly commented on the post "❤️❤️❤️ You’re the best."

The neck tat marks Gomez' 13th tattoo, which includes a thigh tattoo of praying hands and rosary beads that she revealed minutes after her AMA performance back in November:

The singer also recently opened up about the significance 'Rare' in an interview in Billboard:

"I have always loved that song, and I always wanted it to be the title of the record. And I felt like it was a great complement to where I left off with my other singles, because it is honest and raw, and basically saying, 'I know I don’t have it all, I’m not perfect, but I know that I deserve great, and I deserve love, and I deserve all of it, self-love.' It’s just one of those things where it’s a confidence thing, but without being cocky."
