Selling Sunset season five recently dropped on Netflix, and gives fans an insight into Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim's relationship, as well as the ins and outs of life at The Oppenheim Group.
And while it looks like Christine Quinn will forever be causing drama amongst the real estate agents, fans are looking ahead to a potential sixth (!) season of the show. Will it happen? When might it be released? Is there a trailer yet? Here's everything we know so far about a Selling Sunset season six.
Who might appear in Selling Sunset season 6?
While many of the show's usual cast members are expected to return for season six, real estate agent Maya Vander has confirmed that she's sadly leaving Selling Sunset.
The realtor shared the news with Page Six, telling the publication that she wanted to focus on her work in Miami, rather than in LA where Selling Sunset is based. Maya also owns her own agency, The Maya Vander Group, which is based in Florida.
Discussing her departure from Selling Sunset, she explained "I decided to not execute my contract," adding, "I love the show, and it was great, but I’m excited to focus on the Miami real estate market."
Maya went on, "I want to focus on my family, and flying coast to coast is a lot. The show is great, and I love everyone, but looking forward to growing my business in South Florida."
Elsewhere, fans of the show can assume that most other recognisable faces will make an appearance in the next season. Those include Brett and Jason Oppenheim, Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae El Moussa, Amanza Smith, Davina Potratz, Emma Hernan, Vanessa Villela and newcomer Chelsea Lazkani.
One other future that isn't certain though is that of Christine Quinn, with Emma Hernan accusing her of sabotaging her listings in the final episodes of season five, leading to crisis talks amongst management about her future at the firm.
Has Selling Sunset season 6 been announced yet?
So far, there's been no word on whether another season is officially happening. But US Weekly reported back in January 2022 that the show has been renewed for TWO more seasons - aka seasons 6 and 7! Could you imagine?
It would follow what has happened in the past. Back in March 2021, Netflix did a double whammy and announced Selling Sunset would be back for both a fourth and fifth series, following the show's early success.
Production started in May of the same year, and seasons four and five were filmed back to back, which meant not only did we see the introduction of new agents Emma and Vanessa, but also Heather Rae Young's marriage to Tarek El Moussa and Chrishell and Jason's relationship.
What might happen in Selling Sunset season 6?
It depends on if/when the show starts filming, but fans will desperately be hoping to see the fall out from Chrishell and Jason's split, which went down in December 2021. Six months after the pair confirmed they were dating in July 2021 (as seen in season five), they called it quits, due to their differing views on starting a family.
"I have tried to embrace the world I have found myself in and that includes being open and honest about my relationships," Chrishell said at the time. "It felt scary and terrifying knowing that it may not end in what society deems a success and what I am ultimately looking for. But after many long heartfelt talks, I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly."
Viewers will also likely see whether Christine Quinn has a future at The Oppenheim Group, and whether Chelsea, Vanessa and Emma can cement their places in the agency.
What is Selling Sunset season 6's expected release date?
Sadly as Selling Sunset season 6 hasn't been announced yet, there's no trailer or release date to know about as of yet. But, looking back on the last release dates -
Season 1 - March 2019
Season 2 - May 2020
Season 3 - August 2020
Season 4 - November 2021
Season 5 - April 2022
Seasons 2 and 3, and seasons 4 and 5, were filmed back to back, meaning there was over a year gap between them. Which means we probably shouldn't expect a season 6 before summer 2023. Boo!
