Shell Convent refinery hydrocracker production cut back -sources
HOUSTON, Jan 18 (Reuters) -
* Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: 0LN9.L - news) cut back production on the heavy-oil hydrocracker at its 227,586 bpd Convent, Louisiana, refinery following a diesel hydrotreater outage on Wednesday night, sources familiar with plant operations said on Thursday.
* The 45,000 bpd hydrocracker, called the H-Oil Unit, has been forced to process gas oil, instead of the heavy crude it is configured to run, after the 36,000 bpd hydrotreater was shut by unusually cold weather, the sources said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
