Shell Convent refinery restarting diesel hydrotreater -sources

HOUSTON, Jan 19 (Reuters) -

* Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: 0LN9.L - news) was restarting the diesel hydrotreater at its 227,586 bpd Convent, Louisiana, refinery on Friday, said sources familiar with plant operations.

* The hydrotreater was shut on Wednesday by unusually cold weather, the sources said.

* The hydrotreater's shutdown forced Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) to cut back production on the 45,000 bpd heavy oil hydrocracker at the refinery. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
