Shell Convent refinery restarting small crude unit -sources

HOUSTON, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: 0LN9.L - news) began restarting the smaller of two crude distillation units at its 227,586 barrel-per-day (bpd) Convent, Louisiana, refinery on Thursday, said sources familiar with plant operations.

The 100,000 bpd VPS-2 crude distillation unit is expected to complete the restart later on Thursday, the sources said. VPS-2 was shut on Aug. 11 to repair a leak. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
