Shell delays work on crude unit at refinery in Ontario, Canada
NEW YORK, March 30 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell (Xetra: R6C1.DE - news) has delayed a planned shutdown of one of two crude units at its 70,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Sarnia, Ontario, from April until September, according to a person familiar with the plant's operations.
The 35,000-bpd crude unit was scheduled to be shut down for 45 days starting in April to replace the desalter, which removes salt from crude oil, the person said. The work will now begin on Sept. 1, the person said.
A company spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
