Shell issues hazmat leak alert at Sarnia, Ontario site

Nov 20 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell PLC (Xetra: R6C1.DE - news) has issued an alert on a leak at its facility at Corunna in Sarnia, Ontario, according to a notice from the Sarnia-Lambton community alerting system.

Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) operates a 75,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Sarnia.

"The site emergency warning system has been activated and Shell personnel are currently responding," the notification added.

The notice did not specify if the fire affected refinery operations. (Reporting by Anupam Chatterjee in Bangalore)
