Shell says in talks with Gazprom on Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas field

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, Russia, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Energy major Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) is in talks to join Russia's state-controlled Gazprom in tapping the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas field offshore Russia's Sakhalin island in the Pacific, Olivier Lazare, the head of Shell's operations in Russia, said on Wednesday.

Last month, the United States restricted exports, re-exports and transfers of technology and equipment to the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field. (Reporting by Denis Pinchuk; writing by Vladimir Soldatkin; Editing by Alexander Winning)
