Shirley Ballas reveals she's had 'worrying' cancer scare

Shirley Ballas is awaiting test results after suffering from a "worrying" cancer scare.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge revealed during an appearance on GB News that doctors found a lump between two bones in her shoulder after she was struck by the Covid-19 virus back in March.

She has been frequently going to the hospital to have a variety of tests and should find out the results in a few weeks.

"I got the Covid virus and then they found a ganglion cyst or a tumour in my shoulder," she said, reports Mail Online. "I am going backwards and forwards to the hospital all the time. I feel I seem to be getting sicker by the minute. I can't seem to get up and out. It's something between two bones and they are not really sure what it is yet.

"They have done the dye and the MRIs plus this and that. I get the results in a few weeks. The gentleman seems to think it will be fine but, still, it is worrying."

Shirley hopes the growth is a ganglion cyst, a harmless fluid-filled lump which usually disappears on its own. However, it can be removed if it causes discomfort.

The 60-year-old revealed that she's had two cancer scares in the past, with her previously getting breast implants removed in 2019 after discovering a growth in her chest.

She also has a history of cancer in her family as her mother Audrey was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019, and her grandmother and aunt have both battled the disease.

Shirley was left bedbound for weeks when she caught Covid-19 earlier this year, but she assured viewers during her interview that she'll be back on the Strictly judging panel this autumn.
